After just short of 30 years in our current storefront and community home, it is with heavy hearts that we must announce that our time at 7 Summer Street is ending on Sunday, May 31.

The landlord has elected not to renew our lease. That, coupled with the business effects of the pandemic and subsequent economic uncertainty, has made for a rough few years here at the Trolls. But we’ve been grateful for the bountiful support and love our community has shown us. Every moment has been dear and joyful.

We’ve been trying to find a new location for 3 Trolls Games, but so far have not been able to find a space that matches our needs and is affordable. While the hunt continues, it is time for us to acknowledge that there may be an interruption in games and gatherings while we figure out what’s next. Even if it isn’t with a physical storefront, we do hope to continue running events and organizing our community to gather together to play games.

Community has been at the core of our mission and endeavors since we opened, and over the last three decades we’ve watched families be created and grow up at our tables. We’re thinking of all of them as we write these words, and hope they’ll be thinking kindly of us as they read them.

No matter what the next phase of the Trolls brings, it will certainly be a somewhat stripped down version. Furthermore, we need to radically reduce our stock and game and puzzle library. And that means (nearly) everything is on sale. We will also be offering much of our rental and library for sale. This includes many rare and out of print treasures that will need good homes.

We hope you’ll come by not just to snag a sale or a beloved treasure, but also to share with us what this community has meant to you over our time together. Whether you were at the first store game table with Dick thirty years ago, or just joined us in the last few weeks.

Community and the shared joy of play is what keeps us going and looking forward to what comes next. It’s what has allowed us to be here through difficult times.

Thank you,

Andy, Anandi, Amber (and Dick and Lila)
